The new royalty
The celebrity is the new royalty. What people wear to a film premier is as important as what is shown during Paris fashion week. Ordinary folks copy celebrities’ hairstyles and choice of clothes, they try to walk and talk like them and worship their every move. Celebrity magazines and papers as well as online resources are extremely successful and always sell well.
The search and demand for all things related to movie celebrities is very high. It’s probably because by knowing that movie stars are also people we feel closer to them and are given a chance to relate to the magical world of cinema on a very personal level. Believe it or not, some people would not go see a movie if the star in it is notorious for something they oppose of. In real life, that is. People seem to equate fact and fiction and the ensuing confusion has an effect on movie going choices.
But not everything is that superficial. Some celebrities from the world of movies are changing the masses’ views on morality, charity and the global problems of humanity. These people choose to use their money and wealth to make certain causes heard and that is laudable indeed. So until the movies keep fascinating us we will be peeping into the private lives of the people making it – our favourite actors, producers, directors, our favourite celebrities.
